About

I am Yusif Valiyev, a 17-year-old biology enthusiast from Kish village, Sheki, Azerbaijan. Since childhood, I’ve been captivated by the mysteries of the natural world, and this curiosity has evolved into a strong passion for biology. My academic journey has led me to focus on two key areas: cancer research and the origin of life. I am deeply interested in exploring the molecular mechanisms of cancer and how life originated on Earth. I believe that understanding both the origins of life and the complexities of diseases like cancer will offer valuable insights into the fundamental processes of biology and could lead to groundbreaking discoveries in science.

My passion for biology has driven me to excel in various biology Olympiads, where I have earned nine medals. These achievements have been an important part of my growth as a student and have reinforced my desire to pursue challenging and meaningful research. The rigorous preparation for these competitions has not only enhanced my understanding of biology but has also fostered a deep interest in both theoretical and practical research in biological sciences.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I co-founded Lagosta Academy, a startup designed to help students prepare for biology Olympiads. Lagosta Academy is a platform where aspiring biologists can access educational resources and guidance to help them succeed in competitions. . I am actively involved in mentoring these students, sharing my knowledge and experience to help them reach their full potential. The success of Lagosta Academy has reinforced my belief in the importance of education and mentorship in shaping future scientists.
While my academic and entrepreneurial pursuits are important to me, my main research focus remains on the origin of life and cancer biology. I am particularly interested in studying how life emerged from non-living matter and the molecular mechanisms that led to the first living organisms. Additionally, I aim to contribute to cancer research by exploring novel treatments and therapies that could improve patient outcomes. My goal is to integrate these two areas of study, as I believe that understanding the origins of life could offer valuable insights into the biological processes involved in diseases like cancer.

Looking ahead, I plan to continue my studies in both cancer biology and the origin of life, with the goal of contributing to scientific advancements in these fields. Through my research and educational efforts, I hope to make a meaningful impact on both our understanding of the universe and the development of more effective treatments for diseases like cancer. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and committed to pushing the boundaries of knowledge in biology.
